Our certification service is designed to assist local and international clients to obtain correctly certified documents for a wide range of personal and business requirements. Don't waste valuable time & money researching different requirements and options, SBSU Australia offers Notary Public, Apostille Authentication and Foreign Embassy Certification.
An Australian Notary Public, Public Notary, or Notary is a public officer, usually a practicing solicitor or attorney, appointed for life by a State or Territory Supreme Court, or by an English Archbishop in the case of Queensland, and given statutory powers to witness documents, administer oaths, and perform other wide-ranging and useful administrative functions of a national and international nature prior to Apostille Authentication and Apostille Certification.
Australian public, company, commercial or educational documents, including documents witnessed, certified and sealed by an Australian Notary Public, when affixed or attached with an Apostille Certificate issued by the Australian Government, will automatically be accepted for legal use in foreign countries that are signatories to The Hague Convention. Countries which are not signatories to The Hague Convention, use an Embassy or Consular legalisation system rather than Apostille Authentication or Apostille Certification.
Authentication of a document is the same as that of an Apostille (documents witnessed, certified and sealed by an Australian Notary Public), however the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade will certify the document for use in countries which are not signatories to The Hague Convention, the term Apostille Authentication or Apostille Certification is not used. Authentication of a document is completed prior to certification by an Embassy or Consulate of a foreign nation in Australia.
The embassy of a foreign nation in Australia will usually require that the document has been Authenticated (or legalized) by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade. Whilst similar to the Apostille Authentication & Apostille Certification service from the same government department, Authentication of a document is specifically related to the requirements of the foreign embassy where the final certification will take place.
